Retired Pastors and Spouses: 2022 Luncheon

The Intermountain District is grateful for the pastors who have served over the years. This year, the district office hosted around 60 retired pastors and spouses with a potluck meal and great conversation. This annual event honors those in ministry who have gone before us all and on whose shoulders we stand to continue the great work of the Kingdom today. We are so grateful for their calling, their commitment and their sacrifice. As the old song goes, “May all who come behind us find us faithful. May the fire of our devotion light their way.”

Camp Meeting 2022

The District had another great Camp Meeting this year up at Trinity Pines in Cascade, Idaho, with great teaching by Dr. Fili and Dr. Samantha Chambo as our guest speakers.  We also enjoyed another round of Marshmallow Olympics with “great prizes”!  The weekend included some special dedications for special friends and family to honor their legacy at Trinity Pines.  As always, the staff and volunteers at Trinity Pines were amazing hosts!!  Put Camp Meeting on your calendar for next year August 11-13, 2023.

Reaching Kuna

Kuna Nazarene Church recently launched a capital campaign called “Reach Kuna,” casting vision to reach their community in a variety of outreach opportunities.  A gathering of about 80 people ate some great BBQ and heard stories of God’s transforming power to reach the lost and hurting in their community.  Please be in prayer for Pastor Eric Seaney and his staff and congregation as they intentionally and purposefully take steps to fulfill the Great Commission in their "Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria" (Acts 1:8).

Northwest Nazarene University hosted Pastors and Leaders Conference (PALCON) July 11-13, 2022.  PALCON is a gathering designed for Nazarene clergy of all types, with worship gatherings and learning conversations shaped by the theme of "A Deeper Well" to inspire and equip women and men in ministry.  In addition to welcoming clergy, this event provided encouragement and enrichment for spouses attending with them, and NNU provided a great program of activities for children and youth.  Spanish-language translation, worship music, and workshops were included so that a greater diversity of people could participate together.

Gratitude: Pastor Chuck & Robin

June 26 marked Pastor Chuck's last Sunday in the role of pastor at Homedale Mountain View Church of the Nazarene. Chuck and Ryan ministered there for 34 years, and their beautiful congregation honored and celebrated them well. They were also gifted with a beautiful quilt. Many had contributed to it, including words of love and appreciation

Thank you, Chuck and Robin, for all the love you have poured out to this community. The Lord has blessed all your hard work and investment into many lives!

New Pastor at Fairview: Bob Westfall

On June 4, the congregation of Nampa Fairview welcomed Pastor Bob Westfall on his first Sunday as their new senior pastor, along with his wife Stacy and their family. Before joining Fairview, Pastor Bob served as the Children’s Pastor for Meridian Valley Shepherd. We look forward to God's work through this congregation in this new season of ministry.

Homedale's New Youth Pastor: Ryan Schwin

Homedale Mountain View Church of the Nazarene recently welcomed Pastor Ryan Schwin as their new Youth Pastor. Ryan is a recent graduate of Northwest Nazarene University and has done extensive internships at Eagle Nazarene. Ryan grew up in Oregon (Eugene and Baker City) and is engaged to be married in July.

Trinity Pines Work Week

Trinity Pines held its spring Work Week again and over 50 people showed up to spruce up the grounds, work on special projects, and put up the big tent in preparation for summer camps. We are so grateful to all who took time to invest in Trinity Pines and help prepare for a mighty move of God at camps this summer!

New Samoan Congregation in SLC

God is on the move in Utah!

In May, we celebrated the launch of a new Samoan congregation with over 100 people joined together in worship.

Gooding and Boise Midtown

Last month the Intermountain District's newest church plant, Midtown Church in Boise, sent a small group to Gooding Desert Hills Nazarene to remodel their youth room. The group spent Friday cleaning and painting, then Saturday installing new flooring, adding more coats of paint, and remodeling with new furniture. On Sunday, Midtown’s small group was able to stay and worship with the congregation and celebrate the work that was completed. We love to see churches serving churches and our new church plant starting with a missional mindset!

Men's Retreat 2022

On April 8-10, 2022, the Intermountain District hosted a great group of men from all across the district at Trinity Pines for Men’s Retreat. Pastor Mark Fuller from Grove City Church in Ohio was the special speaker and he delivered a profound message of relying on the Holy Spirit each and every day. If you love bacon, prime rib, more bacon, and inspirational time with men, put Men’s Retreat on your calendar for next year: April 14-16, 2023.

Euclid Building Improvements

Boise Euclid Church of the Nazarene is getting a face lift after the recent sale of a property.  During the past several months they have replaced furnaces, windows, roofs, decaying facia and soffits.  The facility has new paint and siding, and soon will have a new sign.  When you are in Boise, stop by to visit Pastor Sam and see the new updates.
